Insight on Transportation Insurance

It is important for agents/brokers to understand the various transportation exposures that exist with many types of insureds. This class begins with the motor vehicle exposures of liability and physical damage:  Customer transfer of risk to hauler; liability to third parties; loading and unloading and the insurance coverage response. The next area reviews the various types of haulers and geographic exposures: Domestic modes of shipment; International modes of shipment; Bailment responsibilities. The last area reviewed focuses on the cargo:  Bills of lading; Cost Insurance and Freight; value of cargo; responsibility for damage and consequential losses.  (This course has been approved by the CDI for 3-hours of continuation credit. | Course number: 245651).
